UEFA, or the Union of European Football Associations, is the governing body for soccer (football) in Europe. It is responsible for organizing national and club competitions across its member associations, which include 55 countries. UEFA’s primary tournaments include the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League, and the UEFA European Championship (Euro). Established in 1954, UEFA’s headquarters is located in Nyon, Switzerland. Its mission involves the development of football in Europe, ensuring fair play, and promoting the sport at all levels.
