Premier League

The Premier League is the top tier of professional football (soccer) in England. It is widely regarded as one of the most competitive and popular football leagues in the world. Established in 1992, the league consists of 20 teams that compete against each other in a season that typically runs from August to May. Each team plays a total of 38 matches, facing every other team twice—once at home and once away. The Premier League operates a system of promotion and relegation with the English Football League (EFL) Championship, meaning that the lowest-placed teams in the Premier League may be relegated to the Championship, while top teams from the Championship can be promoted to the Premier League. The league is known for its high-quality play, financial strength, and international broadcasting appeal, drawing in a global audience and featuring many of the world’s top players and coaches. The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the champion, while teams earn points for wins and draws in their matches.
